Trip Advisor reviews

Specializing In Everything You Love to Eat! — Established 1980

This visitor review says it best:

"In the tiny town of West, Tx (I-35) you'll find one of the best restaurants serving classic Czech, German, and American fare. The cafe and pub offer the hungry patron incredible food at tremendous prices. My favorite menu item is the sausage and kraut plate with Czech fries. The sweet and savory sausage is served next to a heaping helping of sweet and tangy kraut. The Czech fries are lightly pan fried with onions and just the right amount of salt and pepper. Treat yourself to a cold draught beer and you'll say chutný (delicious). All meals are served with homemade beer bread."

"The menu also offers a fabulous chicken fried steak with accompanying mashed potatoes and green beans that are perfectly seasoned. The hamburgers and other offerings at the Czech and American Restaurant are equally delicious. Bottom line, you can't go wrong by dining at the Czech and American Restaurant in West, Texas."

"In the mood for a sit-down meal? Try Picha’s Czech-American Restaurant, located in the old Royal Confectionary building, where the Picha family has served Czech fare since 1980. Stuffed cabbage rolls, sausage and sweet kraut on rye, and chicken and dumplings are the house specialties. Patsy and Albin Picha have recently turned over the operation to daughter Jenene and her husband, Kevin Smart. But Patsy still comes in every morning to bake her famous coconut, chocolate, and lemon meringue pies."
